Over the past few days we've been working on a small makeover for the MySiteManager site and we are rather pleased with it. We hope you agree and we look forward to hearing your comments about it. We've made the information easier to read and more visually pleasing and thrown in a bit of eye candy. The site should also load quicker now we've removed the Twitter feed from the left hand column. You can still follow us on Twitter at http://twitter.com/mysitemanager. We'll be giving the control panel a similar makeover in the coming weeks and we hope to improve load times and make it easier to use on mobile browsers.

While you may not notice it straight away we've updated the WYSIWYG editor in the MySiteManager control panel. The new editor boasts better paste controls to remove any nasty formatting that may upset the editor and therefore make pages easier for you to edit. For example Microsoft Word uses it's own brand of HTML which the majority of web browsers and web editing programs don't understand. The new editor strips all this extra formatting out but leaves your colours, font sizes, etc intact.
The new editor also adds improved support for Internet Explorer 8, better handling of rich media files such as flash, video, etc and generally makes editing your pages simpler and quicker.

Eric Enge, President of Stone Temple Consulting and columnist for Search Engine Land, recently posted his "14 Key Requirements For A Search Friendly CMS" and we're pleased to report that MySiteManager meets every requirement. From complete control over headings, alt attributes, meta tags and page names to redirects, duplicate content, nofollow links and sitemap generation, we cover all the bases. Breadcrumb trails are easily created in the MySiteManager interface and you can save your article as a draft until you're ready to publish it to your site. The new auto-optimization tools we are currently developing will soon allow you to optimize your MySiteManager pages in a few quick clicks making optimizing large sites a painless exercise.

We've been working on several improvements to the MySiteManager calendar system over the last few weeks and the new calendar system is now live for you all to use.
Firstly, we've added two new display options; calendar display type and first day of the week. Calendar display type lets you choose how you'd like the MySiteManager calendar to display on your site. There are three options, standard, list and mini. Standard is the "classic" MySiteManager calendar look, list is exactly that, a list of events, whilst mini will display a mini calendar on your site showing just the days and months, not the events each day has like the larger classic calendar does. To see events on the mini calendar you just click on the highlighted days to view that day's events.
First day of the week allows you to choose which day of the week comes first on your calendar so if you want your week to show Monday to Sunday you'd choose Monday from the drop down box. For Sunday to Saturday you'd choose Sunday, and so on.
We've also changed how you assign an event to a date. You no longer have to type in the date, just choose it from our pop-up calendar. You can choose any combination of dates and multiple dates from the pop-up, from consecutive to random. Simply click the days you want for your event and then click the close (X) button and your dates are chosen.
Finally you can mark the day as "unavailable" or "booked". This feature is designed for any user that takes bookings and wants to show certain days as taken / booked, etc.

If you have photos you'd like to share with others, maybe a gallery of your product range or past projects, you can now create a photo gallery in MySiteManager with just a few simple clicks. For an example of the photo gallery please visit Heron Construction's site and view their gallery. Simply click on the thumbnail images for a larger view presented in a stylish way. No more annoying pop-ups to worry about, simply link your thumbnail to the larger image and the latest AJAX technology takes care of the rest.
Please note that we need to update your site to include the relevant scripts to display the images. If you would like this feature enabling on your MySiteManager site free of charge simply contact Technical Support.
